The high growth potential of automated testing in Indian market has lured the Paris based Smartesting, a developer of software test automation solutions, to set up its first India subsidiary in Bangalore.

The move behind the firm's venture is clear in the words of Michel Guez, Managing Director of the subsidiary, Smartesting Software Solutions (India), "Only 20 percent of the testing done by IT firms is automated. The remainder is all manual," he says.

The firm kicked off its operations in India last year, partnering with the Bangalore based software automation firm Qualitree to rope in the top notch IT clients like Infosys and Wipro by indulging in Proof of Concept (POC) testing projects.

The company is targeting a turnover of two million euro by 2010, and then gradually expanding its base to other prospective places. Smartesting has also plans to expand the sales and testing team in Bangalore.
