People always buy one or another kind of electronics products to make their work easier. But what if a customer gets inundated with a huge pile of such product information and opinions and finds it difficult to choose what to buy? Founded by Vipin Jain, Retrevo has a solution for this customers’ imbroglio. It provides a matchmaking service between consumers and electronics.

Retrevo is betting on a big market opportunity as the Consumer Electronics Association estimated that total consumer electronics revenues in the U.S. for 2008 would hit $170 billion with the average household spending over $1,600 on consumer electronics products.

In a bid to simplify the product shopping, this consumer website comprehends and summarizes the important information on electronics products from industry experts, end-users, PDF manuals and other web pages and presents answers in easily digestible forms, thus saving people time.

Retrevo has just released the Retrevo Pulse, touted as – “the heartbeat of trends for consumer electronics and gadgets”. Retrevo observes and analyzes millions of user behaviors to discover interesting activities and trends that can be shared and used to make smart buying decisions. The Retrevo Pulse consists of the CE Price Indexä, CE Demand Indexä and a real-time product buzz ticker. The indices track daily price and demand trends for consumer electronics by product category and in aggregate based on data for more than 4,000 products across 40 categories.

Retrevo had also recently announced that five more Web publishers have joined its partner network to give their audiences access to Retrevo’s Value Map for categories such as HDTV, Digital Cameras, GPS, and audio receivers, along with aggregated professional and user product reviews. The new partners include DivineCaroline.com, LAPTOP Magazine, Desinformado.com, Personal Electronics Buzz, and Audio Junkies.
