The Mumbai based CarWale.com is creating a platform for users to drive home a car which is the best fit for their need, and gets them a transparent, haggle free deal. It was a long trying task for CarWale CEO Mohit Dubey and cofounders Arun Sahlam, Tufail Khan, and Gaurav Verma to build up a comprehensive automotive website to fulfill the needs of car consumers and to bring them more options in terms of choosing a car of their choice. Intended to give a whole new buying experience to the new as well as used car consumers, these smart farsighted entrepreneurs started CarWale.com, an online car research, buying, and selling website in October 2005.

Owned by Automotive Exchange Private Limited and backed by the venture capital firm Seedfund and the U.S. venture fund Sierra Ventures, CarWale attempts to connect the consumers with car manufactures, dealers, and finance and insurance companies to help them take the right decision while they go for a brand new or used vehicle. Offering a complete consumer-focused service, CarWale is providing content and tools for exhaustive research, pricing and marketplace information, and a very exhaustive car recommendation engine. CarWale offers more than 400,000 pages of car research, tips-advices, road-tests, and more. No wonder it serves 1.3 million unique visitors every month.

CarWale's new car price guide, one of its most popular and unique services, displays on-road prices in 300 cities across India, for almost all cars - brands, models, and versions - being sold in the country. Almost 30,000 unique car buyers take this price quote every month and 30 percent of these enter into a car transaction.

Similarly, CarWale hosts details for around 17,000 used cars available for sale and supports it with India’s probably first used car price guide. The guide features more than 1,000 car models available on Indian roads since 1991 for 30 cities. The website currently serves 8,000 used car value checks everyday and has served more than two million so far.
