The Amir Mobini led U.S. semiconductor company Zenverge is charged to enable a true 'anywhere, anytime, any device' experience for consumers by raising second round of funding. The California based company raised the fund from Motorola, DCM, and Norwest Venture Partners. And, the new funding will be used to support production of a family of single-chip media ICs based on the Zenverge Entertainment Nexus (ZEN), a new architecture for digital HD convergence.

While refusing to disclose the amount raised Mobini, who is the Co-Founder and CEO of the company, says, “With this funding, we have launched one of the industry's most powerful media ICs, enabling operators and manufacturers monetize many new applications and services at reduced system cost." Zenverge's media ICs support transcoding, decoding, and encoding of multiple formats at up to four times HD performance or for up to four simultaneous HD streams, far exceeding the capabilities of other media ICs today. Now shipping to qualified customers worldwide, Zenverge ICs are being incorporated into HDTVs, Blu-ray and DVD players and recorders, set-tops, media gateways, portable device adapters, PCs, and professional and network video equipment.

Founded in 2005, Zenverge delivers advanced and cost-effective solutions for content storage, playback, interoperability, mobility, and networking in the next generation of digital media products. Its user interface is virtualized in a central gateway or server and inserted into each video stream, so that all display devices, including those in the field, can deliver the same look and feel without separate middleware or application software. Additionally, the chip can transform live or recorded content to fit decode and display capabilities of each screen and the available network bandwidth at any given time.

With around 50 dedicated employees, who have been working on applications like whole-home DVR, device-shifting, place-shifting, 3D TV, and 4Kx2K, the company is witnessing an ever increasing demand for the ability to share more HD content across more screens than ever before. “In the last few years, we have been able to develop technology that scales readily to meet this demand, opening the door to wonderful new entertainment possibilities for consumers." says Mobini.
