"I am quite an inquisitive person who keeps searching for answers for difficult questions," says Sundar Balasubramanian, the new General Manager - Strategy & Business Productivity at the India Center of Excellence (COE), EMC. As an engineer, he had a great desire to specialize in nuclear science but a personal tragedy led him into the management stream, a step he greatly regrets. At IIM-Calcutta he had aspired to take up advertising but a twist of fate landed him in the IT sector where he has been ever since.

Prior to EMC, he was with Microsoft for eight years donning many roles. At EMC Balasubramanian's responsibilities include incubating and growing product management skills, outreach programs, COE integration with the field, marketing & communication, and partner leverage for COE led activities. He believes that problem solving abilities, loyalty towards work and being result oriented are three factors that have helped him succeed in all his endeavours.

Quite passionate about music and also an avid reader, Balasubramanian also loves trekking and traveling to exotic places. But mostly he loves spending his time with his five-year-old son. Balasubramanian also likes to learn astrology and philosophy.
