Sanjay Deshmukh has donned a new role as the Vice President - Business User, SAP, Indian subcontinent. He joins Sap from Business Objects where he was the Country Manager for the company in India and was responsible for its growth strategy in India and SAARC region. He played a key role in the integration of SAP BusinessObjects in India following SAP’s acquisition of BusinessObjects in 2008. With a career spanning 14 years, he has held key positions in some of the renowned database software and business intelligence firms, in the industry prior to joining Business Objects.

In his new role Sanjay is responsible for driving the growth of the SAP BusinessObjects suite of products in India targeting the Business User. “I currently handle a very expanded product portfolio as part of the Business User group within SAP which comprises of business intelligence, enterprise performance management , Information management and governance, risk and compliance solutions. Currently, he will also lead a team focused on using the SAP NetWeaver platform to help customers accelerate business innovation and efficiency through strategic IT solutions.

Currently handling a large business unit, Deshmukh believes being people focused and bringing value to the customers is the mantra of success. He says it is very important to educate one’s team about the entire business process and bring in the awareness of value proposition they bring to their customers.

A sports enthusiast, Deshmukh loves to watch and play different sports whenever time permits; some of his favorites being cricket and swimming.
