ITM University - Gwalior: Crafting Students to Face the Real Challenges

There have been glaring gaps between the present education system and the standards demanded in the industry which are pointed out by prominent bodies of the country time and again. In order to remain relevant to the practical needs of the industry, the ITM University takes insights from the industry leaders and the students are taught on the same lines with an aim to uptick the skill-set required for the industry. Based in Gwalior, ITM University is a multidisciplinary university with an international reputation for the quality of its research and teaching across the academic spectrum covering the physical and life sciences, engineering, management, commerce, fine arts, social sciences, arts, medicine, nursing, education and others. It intends to be at the forefront of learning, teaching and research so as to produce well-rounded graduates with lifelong abilities to provide leadership within the societies they serve.

Encouraging e-learning with efront platform
"ITM University-Gwalior", is sponsored by a registered charitable trust, Samata Lok Sansthan. The term innovation is a dominant logic and driving force at ITM. The university has implemented a Learning Management System (LMS) that gives a seamless opportunity to connect teachers and students through an open source platform called efront. It makes the process of knowledge sharing easy, outcome based, time oriented and closely monitored by teachers. Through this interactive platform, the students get access to huge amounts of learning resources and teachers can upload their projects, quizzes, lecture plans and lectures beforehand making the students come prepared for the class.

Education on the lines of industry requirements
Experts and leaders from the industry have been roped in to teach, train and place students there-by to facilitate an end-to-end alignment in crafting careers of students. At present, the University additional papers of companies like Infosys, Cisco, Safexpress, Walchand Dale Carnegie Finishing School (WDFS), FLIP, SAP-India, AMCAT are part of ITM’s syllabus. Some of these companies have also signed MoU's with the university to impart the industry level training and job placement.

The students have a wide access to ample of learning resources with a library of over 58,490 books and more than 3000 journals (Online+printed). They also have access to journals available on AICTE-INDUST and Emerald Inc. The university has the repository of licensed costly softwares like MATLAB, SPSS, E-View and others that are available to students for their usage in competing projects and dissertations. ITM University Gwalior also has a rich library created by support of foreign universities; recently ITM has signed a MoU with the Georgia Southwestern State University, U.S. (GSW) towards the same.
