Recently social networking giant Facebook revealed that software researchers from India were in the forefront of efforts to detect bugs in the social media site's applications. Moreover the company has paid over $1 million in the past two years to security researchers who report bugs on its website. This depicts how CIOs in enterprises are serious about tracking the bugs on their products. With this shift India is becoming a hot destination to contribute globally in the segment of testing.

Today testing clearly gets a larger slice of the IT budget pie. Testing can comprise of as much as 33 percent of the labor hours of a typical application life cycle with sometimes the needle moving to as much as 50 percent. As per the NAASCOM report, over the last 5-6 years, India has become one of the leading destinations for outsourcing of Software Testing services accounting for 32 percent of the total global outsourcing share. Export revenues and the number of employees have doubled over the last four years growing at a CAGR of approximately 20 percent. Key growth drivers include faster time to market, compelling cost advantage, evolution of technologies, availability of a skilled talent pool, and increased maturity of Indian vendors offering end-to-end, innovative services and solutions.

However, the CIOs’ challenge is to find the right service providers with the right mix of all these elements to be completely satisfied with the service. Today to stay ahead in the competition in a crowded market, it’s not just about providing a full gamut of testing services to clients but to take accountability of their critical issues and ensure that value is delivered. And CIOs are on the lookout for such testing providers those are willing to go that extra mile and who treat their clients as valued customers.
