Is the future of enterprise communications in mobile social networking? It seems so, as e-mail has become a vast wasteland of spam and the popularity of IM is increasing among all classes of enterprise users. Craig Mathias of the Farpoint group concludes that "What we need, I've contended for some time, is an easy-to-use, extensible, multi-modal communications service for the enterprise. The Web is the platform, wireless is the transport, and the handset is the delivery vehicle. Add a small about of software (again, via the Web), and we're just about there. After all these years, even for those who haven't been paying attention, mobility is finally getting interesting!" Understanding the need to make the deskphone mobile, Vivek Khuller founded DiVitas Networks in 2005, to improve individual and overall organizational efficiency.

On the mobile handset - Android, Blackberry, iPhone, Nokia and Windows Mobile platforms, or any desktop that is capable of running the Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari web browser, the DiVitas Client provides access to DiVitas Mobile UC features. The client's easy-to-use, icon-driven interface enables users to navigate quickly to a rich set of business voice and Enterprise Social Networking capabilities. DiVitas' solution has been available on Nokia Eseries and Nseries as well as some Windows Mobile devices for some time. When implemented, the solution moves the desktop phone number to the mobile and this allows the client software to provide PBX features on these devices. Thus, there is a single, unified environment, which in turn provides a consistent user experience across handsets and desktops. Moreover, the experience is the same on any network.

Providing mobile business communications solutions for organizations around the world in vertical markets ranging from hospitality, healthcare, and education to retail, manufacturing, and many more, DiVitas employs the term 'enterprise social networking' for the integration of business voice with IM and social-networking applications. Business Voice, alone does not guarantee a call that will not get slipped into voicemail, but when integrated with Mobile Presence, the combination allows the caller to actually see the recipient's availability before placing the call. Graphically setting an individual's Mobile Presence informs others of the best communication method to use (that is, voice or text). When the user's Presence changes – either on the phone or in a meeting, the Presence display dynamically broadcasts the change to all other users in the DiVitas community. Add a status message (i.e. "running 15 minutes late") and the community is now provided with answers to questions before they are asked. IM provides an additional way to communicate when a call is not possible. Integrating Business Voice and IM with Mobile Presence and Status empowers community members with information that ensures their communication (voice or text) is likely to reach its recipient on the first attempt.

Having strategic alliances with companies like Avaya, Nokia, Microsoft, and Samsung DiVitas aims to deepen its relationships with a growing number of customers in key verticals, providing an expanded set of value added mobile social networking and communications tools. Jodi Prins – VP and GM India Operations says, "Since we can work on any carrier network around the globe, there is also still plenty of room to continue our geographic expansion."
