R. Dhamodaran has recently joined Cisco as Sr. Vice President, Channel Operations and Commercial Strategy, for India & SAARC. Dhamodaran has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. He joins Cisco from IBM India where he was Director, Software Alliances & Investment Territory Sales in IBM Asia Pacific. In IBM, as head of IBM Software Group, he has strengthened channels in India, which include Global/Regional SI, and ISV channel for IBM Software business. His tenure with IBM lasted for 12 years and has contributed significantly to its success in India through various roles and responsibilities.

In his current role, Dhamodaran would primarily focus on strengthening Cisco’s relationships with its partner community and driving the effort towards entrenching Cisco’s presence in the commercial market. “At Cisco, we have numerous products to offer to the market and I believe the best way to increase revenue is creating deeper and long-term relationships with channel partners and vendors,” says Damodharan. Prior to his stint at IBM, Dhamodaran has worked with Fujitsu ICIM, IDM, MMTC and ISRO. A graduate in mechanical engineering GCT, Coimbatore, he also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Banaglore. Outside work, Dhamodaran loves traveling with his family and is academically associated with few educational associations where he spends most of his available time mentoring students.
