MDI Concludes Its Social Awareness Week - Arohan

Samaritans, the student-run social initiatives club and Sanskriti, the cultural club of Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon jointly hosted AROHAN ’15. This year, AROHAN organized as many as nine different activities tackling some of the contemporary issues of relevance that included cleanliness, Thalassemia awareness, stem cell donation, racism, Cancer and AIDS awareness, ‘Save Water’ campaign.

Coordinated with the national sentiment of the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan', Cleanliness Drive was organized on February 3 to rid the Subhash Chandra Bose Park in Sector 14 of the plastic bags and other plastic litter. On the same day, 60 MDI students took part in the event - Mandevian Miles Marathon supporting various causes like Uniting against Racism, Child Education, World Peace and Welfare of Autistic Children. On 5th February, National Thalassemia Welfare Society conducted a Blood Donation Camp at MDI Gurgaon.

Rohit Shankarmani, Secretary, Samaritans - Social initiatives club of MDI said "We at MDI are of the firm belief that leaders of tomorrow are ones with a strong social calling. Arohan is our way of providing a platform for spreading awareness about pressing social issues through contributions from the student community. Over the years, AROHAN has gained traction and is a much anticipated event on campus."

Education Innovators by Microsoft

Microsoft India welcomed its 2014-2015 class of Education Innovators featuring seven Microsoft Showcase Schools and thirty Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Experts across India. Microsoft Showcase Schools represent leaders who apply a comprehensive vision for change to transform local schools. Microsoft technology is deployed school-wide, and their experiences are shared with other schools to accelerate reform. Similarly, Microsoft Innovative Educators are experts who integrate progressive pedagogy with advanced technology to advance learning and better prepare students for the jobs of the future.
