Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 to Touchdown Indian Market on March 3

The Note 3 runs on the MIUI 7 powered by an Android 5.0.2 Lollipop core, which has its own interface and vastly improves performance via 30 percent faster response times and 10 percent more energy-efficiency. It also incorporates some new widgets viz. the child mode, baby album, and the auto-DND option. The snapper features a hybrid autofocus 13MP primary camera with a dual-tone dual-LED flash and phase detection autofocus (PDAF). It also flaunts a 5MP front camera that can click high-res selfies on-the-go.

The Redmi Note 3 is expected to have dimensions of 150 x 76 x 8.69 mm, a full 2mm shorter than its predecessor, but is heavier at 164gms over the previous device’s 160gms. Xiaomi decided to bestow the Redmi Note 3 with a 30 percent power upgrade over its previous device, and the new device is set to be powered by a 4,000 mAh beefy battery unit. The new battery is expected to provide up to 11 days of standby time. The device is expected to be available in two models—one with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory, and other  with 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage. The design evolutions though, mean that the phone does not come with any expandable memory.

The Redmi Note 3 comes equipped with 4G, with support for Band 40 provided by some LTE networks in India. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth v4.1, and 3G. It also comes with an inbuilt Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope. The Redmi Note 3 is expected to enter the Indian market in and around the 10000-rupee mark. It is expected to provide competition for similar devices in the segment such as the Lenovo K4 Note, the Moto G (Gen 3) and the YU Yureka.
