When it comes to gaming, both devices lag one or the other feature. The Nintendo 3DS accepts older Nintendo DS game card and its compatible with all non-3D games. While the Vita has some complications with the new Vita game card formats. The device does not support the old UMD disks but the games can directly be downloaded from the PlayStation Store. The PS Vita have access to PlayStation network and supports multi player gaming over the internet while the Nintendo 3DS supports online gaming and also has StressPass system where you can play against other 3DS users nearby you. In terms of gaming and ease of use with older games the Nintendo 3DS wins this level but considering the multiplayer gaming functionality the PS Vita comes first.
