Bangalore: Sony Ericsson unveiled an upgraded version of Xperia Arc, the smartphone is named Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S. The device is speculated to hit the global markets in Q4 2011,
The new Xperia Arc S is powered by a 1.4GHz processor that is 25 percent more powerful than the previous one. Though the original Arc wasn't slow, it'll need the extra processing power to capture 3D photos with its 8.1MP camera. The forthcoming Arc S uses its single camera to capture several photos simultaneously and then stitches them together, in the same way the company's panorama images are captured. The camera is the best element of the new handset, featuring an Exmor R sensor that filters light in dark areas to capture crisp and colourful images, which are then viewed on its 4.2 inch Bravia screen. The screen is great, but it's not capable of displaying the 3D images snapped, requiring a 3D capable TV for that.
The Arc S can be availed in 5 colours, including white, blue, black silver and pink. The new device runs on Android's 2.3 gingerbread OS, customised with Sony enhancements.
