Bangalore: Apple’s innovative technologies Siri, the personal voice assistant for iPhone 4S can now speak Hindi. At the launch of iPhone 4S Siri was only supported with English, later the company released Siri in the Japanese language and is also going release in other languages such as Italian, Chinese, Korean and Spanish later this year.
Now Siri can respond all your queries in Hindi, Kunal Kaul, says the iOS Developer from Delhi who is the man behind this development. He set up Siri to respond in Hindi with the help of a proxy server. He says that the Siri over his iPhone connects to his Google API server for responding the queries in Hindi, Mobigyaan reports. He also posted a video on YouTube of how Siri responds in Hindi.
He also says there is lot of work pending to bring out a stable and full-fledged Hindi version Siri. As of now the Siri cannot understand Hindi, we have to ask questions in English, it can only translate from English to Hindi before it answers the question.
