Sharp Launches New Smartphone Camera
Sharp has launched its latest CMOS sensor camera module of 12.1 megapixel. It is stated to be the world’s thinnest smartphone camera sensor measuring 5.47mm (0.22 inches). It contains lens-shifting technology which can stabilize image and is also capable of capturing 1080p Full HD video.
It’s alleged that Sharp may provide touchscreens for Apple’s future devices. As of now, iPhone 4S has the 8-megapixel sensor, made by Sony; but if Sharp provides its 12 megapixels sensor of 11 mm square chip to Apple, then it will not only be an add-on to the product but also will beat others in the contest.
But yes it’s true that megapixels does not make a quality picture, but this new 12 megapixel camera could give a tough challenge to Nokia’s N8’s 12 megapixel camera, which is presently the highest among all smartphones. The sensor, processor, and the lens are the three components which enhances the image quality. Now let’s hope that Sharp’s this new sensor will improve the quality significantly on up-coming smartphones.
