Bangalore: Motorola's flagship tablet, the Motorola Xoom is hitting the market shelves on February 24 at a price tag of $799 via Verizon. Touted to be the iPad killer by many, a Best Buy advertisement confirms the details of Xoom's launch date and official price. However, here is the catch. To activate the Wi-Fi, you have to subscribe to the one month data plan.
Unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) last month, Xoom is powered by a dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. The Android Honeycomb run tablet features a 5MP rear camera and a front facing 2MP camera.
The Motorola tablet sports a 10.1 inch display screen. It was earlier revealed that the tablet would go on sale from February 14, which now has been delayed by 10 days. Motorola Xoom is the world's first Honeycomb run tablet. The Honeycomb is a special made for tablets OS from Android that enhances the UI and media functionality of the device.
The fact that it is called the iPad killer is for numerous reasons like its dual cameras, and ability to play Adobe Flash software.
