Bangalore: Motorola Xoom is having the privilege of being the first ever honeycomb tablet which will be launched in the country by the end of this month. The first ever Honeycomb device is already released in the United States earlier this year in the month of February. Actually honeycomb is a version of the Android operating system by Google specially optimized for tablets.
Previously launched Tablets like Acer Iconia adds to the feeling of the people that Xoom is a bit late to enter the Indian Honeycomb Tablet scene. But Acer Iconia Tab A 500 with almost the similar functionality with very few difference is been criticized for having a poor build quality.
Motorola Xoom is a thin, light and powerful device with a super powerful dual-core processor and Android 3.0 ( Honeycomb)- the Android platform designed specifically for tablets. With its 10.1-inch HD widescreen display offering, a resolution of 1280 X 800 pixels. One can enjoy 1080p full HD video play back with an HDMI Port, in this powerful flexible device. It is proclaimed as one of the fastest tablets around because it is powered by a1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual- core processor (same as the A500). The tablet also features a 2 megapixel front-facing camera, and 5 megapixel rear-facing camera , with 720p video recording capabilities.
Additionally, the XOOM will also be available in 16GB and 32GB capacities upgradeable via the micro SD cards. Interestingly the specs are almost identical to the ICONIA Tab A500 with very minor differences in dimensions (the XOOM is a tad slimmer), so we can expect the competition to get really fierce.
