5. 2008: App Store, iPhone 3G

In 2008 WWDC Apple announced the App Store for iPhone and iPod Touch and along with the App Store the company has also announced the iPhone 3G for the worldwide market. On the same day the App Store went live and the new iPhone 3G went on sale.
