LG Optimus 2X, world's first dual-core smartphone

Bangalore: LG has announced the world's first dual-core chip smartphone, the Optimus 2X. This means the Optimus 2X has more power than the present single core phones. The dual core phones are expected to be a major trend in the mobile market in the coming year.
The Optimus 2X had earlier surfaced as the LG Star powered by the Tegra 2 and running on Android 2.2. Froyo. Though the phone ships with Android 2.2, it is upgradeable to Android 2.3.
The device has a four inch WVGA display screen that offers 480x800 pixel screen resolution. It comes with 8GB internal memory that can be expanded to 32GB using a microSD card.
Its 3D touch interfaces get enhanced by the accelorometer, the gyro sensorand the Tegra 2 chip. It packs in a 8MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera for video calling. The device records 1080p MPEG/H.264 video and plays full HD videos.

With unique features such as HDMI mirroring and exceptional graphics performance, the LG Optimus 2X is proof of LG's commitment to high-end smartphones in 2011."
The Optimus 2X launches in first in Korea in January 2011 followed by Europe and other parts of Asia.
