Lenovo launches T, L and W series ThinkPads


Bangalore: Lenovo has introduced a new range of laptops, updating with Intel's Sandy Bridge integrated graphic processor. The newly launched laptops come with improved power and performance management and better voice calling features. Other features include dual array microphones, an LED-lit microphone mute key and keyboard noise reduction technology. T series of the ThinkPad include 14 inch T420, 15 inch T520 along with thin T420s with a weight of less than four pounds. T420s has 30 percent faster rate of bootup, while t420 has a battery life of 30 hours, which is a result of its 9-cell extended battery. The laptops will be available at a cost of $ $1,329 for thin T420s, $779 for T420 and $909 for T520. L series of the laptops presents mainstream business laptops. The series has L420, and L520. Though these laptops are bulkier than T series, they make up with faster processors and distinct graphic solution. Similarly to other series, it also presents several choices of Core i5 and i7 processors. The ThinkPads will have AMD Radeon HD565 graphics and an optional 80GB mSATA SSD drive. The cost of 14 inch and 15 inch models will start at $719, though it might differ with varying level of configuration. W series include ThinkPad 15 inch W520 that has GPU configuration options like Nvidia s Quadro 100M and 2000M. It has a graphic memory of 2GB along with SSDs with a capacity up to 16 GB. The price of this is likely to be $ 1,329. Lenovo ThinkPads are likely to hit the market by end of March. Official date for the launch in India is yet to be announced, which is expected to be soon. Lenovo has already decided to bring its Android/Windows powered U1 IdeaPad and LePad hybrid to India. The new range of ThinkPads can follow them.
