Kobian launches low budget phones Roxy & Viva in India

Bangalore: Computer peripherals maker, Kobian has launched two low cost phones under the brand name of Mercury in India. Called the Mercury Viva and Mercury Roxy, the phones are priced at
1,999 and
2,229 respectively.
The Mercury Viva is a dual SIM bar phone that has got red color strip around it. It has LED display with a 1.3MP camera. Other features include MP3, FM, Bluetooth, and expandable memory. There is 'Magic Voice' feature in the phone that can modify the voice of the user. The 1700mAh battery gives a talk time of eight hours and standby time of 18 days.
The Mercury Roxy is a slim device sporting a 2-inch LCD display. Among its features include expandable memory, Skype and MSN support, Bluetooth, FM radio, Music Player, E-book reader, and camera.
In a market like India where low cost but feature rich phones are the order of the day, the new phones are just two new additions in the already long list, without offering any further innovation apart from what already exists.
