iPhone 5: Hits and Misses

The NFC Is Missing!

The new iPhone is the first ever iPhone to come with the LTE connectivity. But there is a disappointment in store. The phone is missing the NFC (Near Field Communication) feature. NFC isn’t very complicated and Apple could have easily slipped this as well in the feature loaded new iPhone. The advantages of NFC are many. It allows the iPhone user to easily pair with Bluetooth devices and also helps in quick exchange of data between two paired devices.

No Battery Improvements

Though elsewhere in this article, Apple has promised the users that the new iPhone comes with enhanced battery life which would give the users up to eight hours of talk time and 10 hours of video playback. In reality it looks like there hasn’t been any enhancement made to the battery. The battery looks like it is smaller. This was done so that Apple could come out with a lighter and slimmer phone. If this is a compromise on the battery life only usage will tell us! Mostly the battery life and backup will be the same as the previous iPhone 4S.
