iPhone 4S India Pricing 'Revealed'

Bangalore: iPhone 4S has been the most awaited gadget for most Indians after the departure of Steve Jobs and the pricing of the phone had been a very skeptical issue with the dollar growing stronger than rupee. Apple iPhone 4S prices are out and Airtel will be selling the iPhone 4S base model (16 GB) at 44, 500 whereas the top-end 64 GB model will cost 57, 500. The 32 GB model will be sold for Rs 50,900. The service provider had announced it would launch the phone in India on November 25 and that the phone would be available for pre-order from midnight of November 18 onward. An Apple spokesperson refused to comment on the pricing but pointed out the recent weakening of the Indian rupee versus US dollar was bound to push up the prices in the country. The handsets to be sold in India are, however, the fully unlocked ones. Besides, Indian operators Airtel and Aircel are not subsidizing the handset cost through bundled offers unlike in countries where iPhone is available with much cheaper price tags. On the midnight of November 24, 2011, selected stores in major cities will reportedly be opened to sell the first units of the iPhone 4S to waiting customers.
