Bangalore: Apple’s next generation of iPhone is likely to have a 19-pin connector dock port instead of 30-pin version that is used currently in the company’s portable gadgets from iPod to iPad.
The iPhone 5 is expected to hit the market around October with 19-pin connector dock port reports Reuters. According to the Reuters’s sources that are familiar with this matter said, “This change is to make room for the earphone moving to the bottom.”
This means the new iPhone will not connect with huge number of speakers and other accessories which are currently available in the market. This changes leads to a good opportunity for accessory venders to develop new accessories according to the 19-pin dock connector. But it is expected that the company will come with some sort of adapter so that the new iPhone can be used with previous connectors.
