HP lines up new printers to conquer market

Bangalore: Hewlett Packard (HP), in its bid to expand its market share in the printer arena, has launched three new printers in the Indian market. The printers include the HP Designjet T2300 emultifunction, the price of which is
5.5 lakh, the HP Designjet T7100 and Z6200 costing in the range of
6.5 lakh and Rs 9.5 lakh.
The new range of printers are primarily for large format printing purposes like in the engineering, construction and architecture industries.Mahesh Kumar Soni, Country Manager, Design Business, HP India said, "Design and architecture segments are burgeoning and are fuelled by the construction boom in the country. Our new range is mainly targeted at this segment. We see a huge potential in this segment."
The market for digital printing in India is set to witness a ten fold growth in the next couple of years. As per Gartner report, the Q3 of 2010 saw a growth of 57 percent in the printer and copier market. Of this, half of the printer,copier shipments were garnered by HP.
The company had earlier in the year launched a new portfolio of web-connected, cloud print-enabled home and business printers for the Indian market. At this rate, HP looks poised to safely dominate the printer market in India.
