Garmin-Asus launches Android handset @ 18,990


New Delhi: Mobile phone maker Garmin-Asus has launched Smartphone A10 in the Indian market priced at 18,990. The A10 is supported by the Android 2.1 OS, that uses a 3.2 inch capacitive screen that provides multi touch facility. It features 5 mega pixel auto focused camera and 4GB storage (expandable up to 32 GB) in addition to 512 MB of RAM and 512 MB of ROM. The RAM and ROM would play the role of the storehouse of often accessed files. It also carries a battery of 1500 mAH. which is expandable up to 32 GB. The uniqueness in the new device is the propriety car and pedestrian navigation technology, which enables navigation of Built-in Point of Interest (POI) database which in turn helps to track the movie show times, public transport information, location of shops and establishments. It also provides real-time information of weather, gas-prices, and parking lot availability among other things. The services can be accessed under A10's 'click and go' function. A10 can easily assure the accessibility of this navigation technology because of the pre-installation of requisite maps in it. The device will be available in major cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Culcutta.
