Wespro epad; Wespro pad has 7-inch resistive touch screen, VIA WM8505 400MHz, 2GB NAND flash memory, WiFi, 128 MB RAM and Ethernet connectivity. This tablet is the cheapest tablet in India. Specific features of the tablet are; its display screen of 7 inch, Android run device,128 MB, VIA WM 8505 400 MHz processor, 2GB Nand, 32 GB expandable memory and in-built Wi-Fi. The weight and the price makes the tablet different from the other tablets.
Adam tablet; This tablet was launched on December 18, 2010 worldwide. The tablet was designed by Bangalore-based firm Notion Ink. Notion Ink offers a range of Adam tablets with different options. Adam tablet includes an Nvidia Tegra 250 processor with a 1 GHz Dual Core Cortex A9. It runs on Android 2.2 Froyo. Adam has two choices of screen, a Transflective Display made by Pixel Qi or an LCD. The tablet also has a 178 degree rotating swivel camera, a touchpad at the back and a radio to go with it.
In this list of 'Desi' tablets, the next one to come is the $35 government sponsored prototype called Sakshat that hardly looks posh. The tablet is said to have 2GB memory, run Linux, be able to connect to the internet over WiFi, open PDFs, and even play YouTube videos.
India based IT Service Company HCL has come up with three tablet PCs with prices starting from
14, 990 for the base model to
32, 990 for the highest speed model. The HCL ME range tablets are all based on Android 2.2 OS instead of the newer Honeycomb OS. The last time HCL associated with tablet PCs was during the Indian government's effort to launch a $35 tablet Sakshat, though the deal with HCL fell through.
With the innovation of all these Desi tablets, it will now become easier for the common man to get his hands on any of these tablets.
