Bangalore: The much anticipated tablet from Dell, Streak, is finally launching in the U.S. on August 13 on AT&T carrier. However, pre-orders have opened up one day prior to the full public release date. If Streak is bought with a two year service contract, it will cost $299.99 while the price shots up to $549.99 without the contract.
Streak is an Android based tablet, known for its reputation of being a hybrid between conventional smartphones and larger tablets. It gives access to about 70,000 third party apps available in the Android market store.
The key features of Streak include a 5-inch capacitive multi-touch WVGA display screen, 5MP camera and a VGA front facing camera. It also has Integrated Google Maps, which give turn by turn navigation, street and satellite views. Social media apps like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube come loaded in it.
The connectivity options offered include built-in Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth. The device comes with an internal memory of 2GB and can be expanded to 32GB with a Micro SD card.
Dell Streak made its appearance first in UK earlier in June this year.
