3. PhoneSat - NASA’s Smartphone Nanosatellite

After conquering the planet Earth now the Android is set to go to the sky. NASA is developing two news PhoneSats nanosatellites in their Ames Research Center in California. And these two tiny satellites which roughly have a size of 4 cubic inches are going to treat your HTC Nexus One and Samsung Nexus S as their onboard computers. They are expected to be launched to the space in 2013.

The PhoneSat 1.0 will be powered by HTC Nexus One and the satellite is meant to send digital imagery along with the records of its position. While the PhoneSat 2.0 is to be powered by Nexus S and it will enable a two-way radio solar panels and a GPS receiver.

4. Microwave

Android to run a Microwave, now that’s a pleasant surprise! A Kerala-based company named SectorQube Technolabs is the maker of this unique device which runs on Android and is dubbed a MAID (Microwave Android Integrated Device).

This device can help a lot to improve you cooking skills. It lets you connect to the internet and download recipes; it reads out the ingredients and guides you through the cooking process by using its voice assistant feature. At present this device is under testing and it is supposed to reach the market by the end of 2012 with a price tag under 8,000.
