CES 2014: Smartphones That Ruled The Show

#2 ZTE Grand S II, Sonata 4G and Iconic Phablet
ZTE revealed three new Android smartphones. HTC claims the Grand S II to be a high-precision voice phone that can act on commands such as unlocking and picture taking. It also features three microphones to help improve the clarity of voice calls. The Sonata 4G includes a 4-inch screen, 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor, and 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture. It is headed to AT&T's Aio Wireless prepaid service. Lastly, ZTE’s Iconic has a 5.7-inch HD screen with Gorilla Glass, a quad-core processor, Dolby Digital, and wireless charging. Much like the Samsung Galaxy Note, this device will be able to run two apps on the screen at the same time.

#1 Sony Xperia Z1S and Z1 Compact
What set Sony apart at this year’s CES? It was the only smartphone maker to show off new hardware. Sony and T-Mobile announced the Xperia Z1S, a flagship smartphone that will arrive later this month. This attractive, waterproof device offers a beautiful 5-inch HD screen, a 20.7-megapixel camera, and lots of customized software from Sony, including music streaming and movie services. Sony also revealed the Xperia Z1 Compact, which has a smaller 4.3-inch screen, but offers the same design language and features as the larger Z1S.
