Akai brings India's first triple GSM SIM phone, Trio


Bangalore: Akai, the Japanese consumer electronics company, has launched a triple SIM phone called the Akai Trio in the Indian markets. The Akai Trio is the first triple GSM SIM handset in India. It is priced at 3,295 and is available across 15,000 outlets in India. Multi-SIM phones have been the talk of the town for quite sometime now. The market is already deluged with dual SIM phones and now triple SIM handsets are creeping into the shelves as well. The Akai Trio features a 2 inch TFT display screen with a 1.3MP camera. There is a torch incorporated into the phone and multimedia features like FM radio, built-in sound recorder, and audio/video player. Connectivity wise, the device has options of Bluetooth, WAP and GPRS. It also has call blocking options and numerous other features like speed dialing, conference call ability. An important aspect of the phone is that it has call forwarding option that forwards the call to the active SIM, making call management easier. You can expand the memory of the phone by up to 8GB through inserting a memory card in the slot. The Akai Trio also has an e-book reader. The 1100 mAh battery of the phone offers five hours of talk time with 400 hours of standby time. The device comes with one year warranty.
