What's Inside the Renovated Macbook Air?

Bangalore: iFixit are back to doing what they do the best, tearing down the insides of a laptop. This time their object of interest is the newly updated MacBook Air. Though the exterior looks the same there are some changes inside the MacBook Air.

1. Ivy Bridge with Apple

The most striking change in the new MacBook Air is the Ivy Bridge processor, which is Intel’s new 22 nanometer processor which has upgraded silicon. According to Apple this will help make the graphics faster by 60 percent. While opening up the MacBook Pro, iFixit found a Core i5-3427U 1.8GHz chip that comes with Turbo Boost which is believed to increase the speed to 2.8 GHz and also found Intel’s HD 4000 graphics. In spite of being powerful it only draws 17 watts of power.
