Vertu and Bentley Join Hands To Launch A Luxury Smartphone


BANGALORE: When it comes to expensive Smartphones, Vertu is the first name that flashes on our minds. This New Year, the luxury Smartphone maker – Vertu has unveiled a new device dubbed as Signature Touch, reports TOI.

This new device from Vertu is made in the collaboration with the British luxury car maker – Bentley and this phone is priced at $9,000. The luxury handset is crafted with two-tone Beluga and Hotspur Bentley leather with Hotspur stitching too. The Smartphone buyers get an option of ‘Made to Order’ much like Bentley’s cars and this new handset can be customized according the buyer’s needs.

The ‘Made to Order’ consists of 8 leather colours and 16 stitching options. Furthermore, the device features a 3D Bentley logo at the bottom of the screen, knurled side keys and a sound bar.

Under the hood, the 5.2-inch display device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor clubbed with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory with expandable option up to 2TB. The Signature Touch is fitted with 21MP primary camera and a 2.1MP front-facing camera and it runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The new Vertu handset packs in a 3,160mAh battery that supports Qi wireless charging. Gordon Watson, Vertu VP Sales and Marketing spoke about the phone, “The Vertu for Bentley products have been a phenomenal success. This is a partnership that has sparked the imagination of luxury consumers and the models released so far have proved very desirable among our existing global customer base. However, nearly 40 per cent have been purchased by customers new to the Vertu brand. "We are confident that the new Signature Touch for Bentley Smartphone, with its unique design, powerful technology and exclusive content and services, will do equally as well.”
