Sony Rolls Out ICS Update for 3 Xperia Smartphones


Bangalore: Sony announced that it has started rolling out Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for three latest Xperia range smartphones. The smartphones include Xperia Go, Xperia sola and Xperia U.

"Today we're starting our software rollout for Xperia go, Xperia U and Xperia sola including Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 upgrade and new unique media applications. The rollout will continue over the next few weeks in markets globally," posted in the Sony’s official blog.

The update will bring lots of new features and functionality including new lock screen with improved functionality, resizable widgets, control over mobile data consumption, extended standby mode which company claims to increase standby time up to four times, recent apps button and  a new ways to experience your music with Sony’s media applications – Walkman, Album and Movies.

The company also added a new feature ‘Glove Mode’ for Xperia sola smartphone. This feature is an extension of floating touch technology to allow users to operate the smartphone even wearing gloves.

The update is not available OTA (Over-The-Air), in order to get upgrade you have to connect your Xperia smartphone to PC or Mac.
