OnePlus Announces a Price Cut on its Flagship Model OnePlus2


BANGALORE: OnePlus the rapidly expanding startup in the mobile manufacturing space has announced a permanent price cut on its flagship product OnePlus2 in India. The price revision will touch on both the 16 GB and 64 GB variants of the smartphone. After the expected price cut of 2000, the 64 GB and 16 GB models will be available for 20,999 and 18,999 respectively. Having made its entry in the Indian markets seven months ago, the company now finds it reasonable to slash the prices to cover a larger network of buyers.

Commenting on the price slash, OnePlus hints towards its widening operations in the country that has opened doors for adopting a more flexible pricing strategy. Plans are afoot for a new flagship product launch even as the company is preparing to introduce OnePlus 3 in the second quarter of 2016, reports Gadgets 360. OnePlus3 is likely to be priced higher when compared to the previous smartphones of OnePlus and as per rumors, it is the design part that’s highly focused on for this model.

The specifications of OnePlus 2 include a 5.5 inch display with a full-HD (1080x1920 px) resolution. The phone’s highly responsive fingerprint scanner is placed slightly below the display and sensing an authorized fingerprint, it switches to active mode from sleep. OnePlus 2 is powered by an Oxygen OS based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and has some additional customization options such as dark mode, app permissions, gesture support and a home screen feature named Shelf that displays the list of commonly used contacts and apps. The smartphone houses a 5 MP front camera and a 13 MP rear camera with optical image stabilization and a dual LED flash.
