Microsoft Launches Economical Smartphones Lumia 650 & 650XL


BENGALURU: Microsoft has officially unveiled its new low-cost smartphone Lumia 650. The handset will be available in selected markets, along with pre-installed windows 10. It is the second low-end smartphone from Microsoft after Lumia 550 and costs around 14,000 INR.

The device features 5-inch HD AMOLED display with 1280×720 pixels resolution and 1.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor coupled with 1GB RAM.  It provides 16 GB of internal storage with 200 GB of massive microSD card support. The phone appeals user attention with its slimmer appearance, having a configuration of only 6.9 mm in thickness and 122 grams of weight.

The high defination AMOLED display is bright and intuitive. It’s by far one of the most beautiful screens ever at this price range. Lumia 650 also features a highly polished, diamond cut and anodized aluminum frame, giving it an exceptional and exclusive feel. Considering the relatively low-pixel sensor, it won’t disappoint you much as it manages to take reasonable shots both inside and outside.

The rear camera of the phone is of 8-megapixel equipped with features like autofocus and LED flash. The front-facing camera is of 5-megapixel. Both the cameras are able to shoot 720 pixel quality videos.

Microsoft official blog claims that the phone is a business phone as it is equipped with access to Office 365 apps, OneDrive cloud storage and Cortana voice assistant. Lumia 650 runs the latest Microsoft Office apps right out of the box, allowing users to create and edit documents on-the-go and sync them to the cloud via OneDrive application, while Cortana, a digital personal assistant, helps users to be organized and prepared for the day ahead.
