Micromax to Launch Two New Budget Tablets


Bangalore: It almost seems like Micromax is launching a new budget tablet almost every other day. The latest news is that Micromax is ready to release two new tablets- the Funbook Alpha and the Funbook Infinity to the Indian markets.

The Micromax Funbook Alpha:

The Funbook Alpha has a 7 inch capacitive touch screen. It will be powered by a 1 GHz A8 processor and will operate on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The tablet will also have a 0.3 megapixel front facing camera that would enable video calling and functions on a 2800 mAh battery. The Funbook Alpha comes with an internal memory of 4 GB and a slot for microSD card with memory expandable up to 32 GB. The good news is that the tablet will be priced at just 6,500 or maybe even lesser.

The Micromax Funbook Infinity:

The Funbook Infinity will also come with a 7 inch capacitive touch screen and will be powered by a 1 GHz A8 processor. Unlike the Alpha, Infinity will have a 2 mega pixel front camera and a 0.3 mega pixel rear camera. The tablet will also come with two front speakers making listening to music and watching video an enjoyable experience.  The device will work on a 4000 mAh battery and will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. This tablet will come with a price tag above 6,500.

"We will come up with these two tablets in next two to three weeks," said Deepak Mehrotra, CEO, Micromax.  Along with the announcement of the new budget tablets, the company also said that it will be releasing two new budget phones; Micromax Ninja 3.5 and Micromax Ninja 4.0 - by the end of August.
