Karbonn A8, Jelly Bean 4.2 Smartphone Launches Online

Bangalore: Korbonn’s latest budget phone has appeared on online shopping sites for 6,189. The company did not officially announce the phone, but its presence online is generating quite a stir.

The device has a 4-inch display with 480x800 pixels resolution. Powered by 1GHz dual-core processor coupled with 512MB RAM, the phone runs on Jelly Bean 4.2. It has a 5-megapixel rear shooter with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel front shooter. The device comes with 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card and has a 1500mAh battery.

It is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device with dual standby. The Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ aGPS and 3G. The device comes with FM Radio and a G sensor. It has preloaded apps like Assassins Creed, Bubble Bash, Kingsoft Office, WhatsApp, Flipboard and Karbonn Live.

Recently Karbonn launched A11+ sports, a 4.7-inch TFT LCD screen with 854x480p resolution and packed a 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM and 512MB storage capacity for 5,849. Sadly the device had other limitations coupled with low internal memory; it ran on Ice Cream Sandwich while competitors like Lava, Micromax and others were using Jelly Bean. It seems the recent A8 is launched to clear this drawback.

A8 may face stiff competition from Lava Iris 405, Karbonn Smart A10, XOLO A500S, Byond B63 and Micromax Canvas Fun A74.
