Huawei mobiles debut in India from August


New Delhi: Huawei Technologies announced its foray into the Indian market by launching its new series of mobile phones, the 'Hangout' and 'Android' range. The phones will be available to consumers from August 1, 2010. The Huawei phones use advanced chipset solutions from Qualcomm, the innovator of 3G technology. The devices that were launched include U9130 and C5600 under the Hangout series and U8300 and U8500 under the Android series. The U9130 is a 3G enabled phone that allows video calling and download of multiple files. The QWERTY keypad makes it easy to chat online and one can access social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter on the phone. The C5600 is mainly aimed at the youth. It is a CDMA phone on OMH platform that allows consumers to change the CDMA networks seamlessly. It incorporates social networking sites and music playing features. In the Android series, the U8300 is pretty much similar to the U9130. It runs on Android OS and has a touch screen with a QWERTY keypad. The U8500 has a 3.2 inch touch screen display running on Android OS. It incorporates an optical track pad. Google market is a download machine in this phone using which you can download multiple applications. Victor Xu, Chief Marketing Officer, Huawei Device, said, "Through the launch of these products, we hope to enrich lives of Indian consumers. With the Indian telecom industry growing at the rate of 20M subs each month, and poised to reach 1 billion by 2015, Huawei sees traction in the Indian telecom device segment. With our entry into the open market, we will continue to look at all the possible growth opportunities."
