Asus to Unveil its First Android ICS Tablet


Bangalore: It is reported that Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablet. 

Earlier this year it was revealed that, Lenovo is releasing an Ice Cream Sandwich-powered tablet by the end of 2011, however recently Asus claimed that its latest release will be the first to feature Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. Although the tablet will be shipped by the company with Android 3.2, honeycomb, the manufactures stated that it will be immediately upgraded to Android 4.0.

The Transformer Prime is a quad-core, 10.1-inch tablet. The tablet is a third of an inch thick and weighs around 1.3 pounds. The tablet is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3, the first-ever quad-core processor for mobile devices; and Nvidia assures that as a result, the tablet will remit  lightning-fast apps, gorgeous video, responsive gaming and an extra-long battery life up to 18 hours. The tablet can be availed with an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 1.2MP front-facing camera. And if you are more engrossed in text and productivity, the Transformer Prime comes with a mobile dock featuring a full-size QWERTY keyboard and touchpad. The tablet can be availed in two colors champagne and gray colors and 32GB and 64GB storage capacities.

The tablet can be pre – ordered from Amazon, Best Buy and other retailers. The former capacity has a price tag of $499, and the latter has a price tag of $599.
