Alcatel Boasts its Pop Star to be an All-in-One Handset

BENGALURU: Indian gadget market has recently got another new member from Alcatel’s new launch—Pop Star Smartphone. Alcatel is a TCL Communication –owned brand and its latest launch is now available in India at 6,999.  Alcatel OneTouch Pop Star smartphone is considered the predecessor of this new model and was released at IFA 2015.

The handset is shipped in colors including Metal Gold and Metal Silver. Praveen Valecha, Regional Director of Alcatel states that they have launched Pop Star in partnership with Gadgets 360 and this is another step towards their recent e-commerce initiative to bring technologically advanced and stylish phones at affordable price.

The smartphone is powered by a Quad-core processor clocked at 1GHz that merged with  1GB of RAM. It has dual-SIM option and supports Android 5.1 Lollipop. In its display, a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS is added with 160-degree viewing angle. An 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera sported in its offering. On the other hand, it provides an 8GB in-built storage which is expandable up to 32 GB through microSD card.

Its offering ends up by delivering 4G speeds with Wi-Fi 802.11 B/G//N and Bluetooth. GPS and Micro-USB 2.0 connectivity has also featured in the handset. Additionally, it includes accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor. All functionalities of  Alcatel’s Pop Star is controlled by a 2000mAh removable battery.
