Apple II series of computers was introduced in 1977 and became popular as one of the first highly successful mass-produced microcomputer products. Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, designed it.
The Apple II had color and high-resolution graphics modes, sound capabilities and one of 2 built-in BASIC programming languages permitting access to the computer's internals, motherboard with 8 expansion slots.
Apple II was a most important technological advancement over its forerunner, the Apple I. The Apple II was designed to look more like a home piece rather like office electronic equipment. For many years, it had been the primary source of income for the company.

There is a very interesting story behind the invention of the first prototype walkman. Sony co-chairman Masaru Ibuka in 1978 was very fond of listening to operas. Once he expressed the desire of listening operas even when he was on his frequent trans-Pacific plane trips.
The audio-division engineer Nobutoshi Kihara thus invented the first Walkman for Sony and it was introduced into the markets in 1979 as the Walkman in Japan.
