7 Highly Hyped Gadgets That Never Launched

#2 Sega VR
Sega VR was a virtual reality headset intended to release in the 1990’s. The goofy headsets came with an LCD screen and headphones with motion detection feature and looked way ahead of its time. This definitely caused a lot of excitement among the teens as the product was well-marketed with a tie-up with Cheerio’s, a sugary confectionary whose Infomercials briefly conducted a contest to win the Sega VR headsets. Although Cheerio’s did make its sale by hyping the gadget, Sega VR never made it to market as the device was cancelled for causing headaches on extensive usage.
Presently, the Oculus Rift is creating the same buzz of excitement among the mass for its surreal virtual reality gaming experience.

#1 The Amiga Walker PC
In the mid-1990’s Amiga Technologies came up with a prototype computer called Amiga Walker which was designed to look unlike anything else in the market. It had a removable top case so that the motherboard could easily be expanded to a bigger case in case of future upgrades. This PC was designed for a “fun” purpose to propagate latest gaming apps. Unfortunately, the overall look of the Walker device wasn’t taken seriously by its audience as they started to ridicule it by comparing it with a vacuum cleaner and even Darth Vader's helmet.
Only two of the prototypes were made and the Walker was never released.
