Bangalore: After a long wait, Nokia released its Windows Phone 8 based Smartphones – Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 in India last month. The company also unveiled its cheapest Windows Phone 8 handset, Lumia 620 which is expected to hit Indian market this week.
According to the reports, Lumia 620 would be available in India at an estimated price of 15, 000. The device was already launched in Thailand and U.K markets for approximately Rs 14,000.
The device is powered by a 1GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, paired with 512MB RAM. Its internal storage capacity is 8GB and has a 1300 mAh battery. The WVGA capacitive touch screen measures 3.8 inches, with a 5MP camera on the back panel and a VGA in the front. Connectivity features include NFC, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Lumia 620 will be available in varying colours which include Magenta, Yellow, Cyan, White and Black. It will come preloaded with exclusive applications – Nokia Drive, CityLens, Nokia Maps, MixRadio and more as other Smartphones in the queue.
If Nokia launches Lumia 620 at the estimated price, the handset would surely mark it success in the price conscious Indian market. To compare the price with other Windows 8 Phones, Lumia 620 will be the cheapest WP8 handset made available in the country creating an impact among mid-range Smartphone seekers who would not shell out extra penny on purchase.

However, the device will not only compete with Windows Phone 8 handsets, but also with the Android offerings available in the mid-range market division. Several companies like HTC, Sony, Karbonn, Micromax, Samsung and more have Smartphones based on Android and Windows Phone OS in the mid-range segment.
