HTC To Launch India's Most Expensive Android Phone

Bangalore: Taiwanese mobile manufacturer HTC is reportedly set to launch its flagship Smartphone ‘Butterfly’ in India. According to TOI, the top–of - the - line device is expected to be above all current Android flagship phones including Samsung Galaxy S III and HTC’s One X. The tech blog Android OS says that the phone will be priced at a whopping 44,000 in the country.

This would make HTC’s butterfly, the costliest phone in the country as of now. However there is only a slight distinction with Samsung Galaxy S III which was priced at 43, 180 in its May 2012 launch. But the price was soon cut to 40,000 and the device is currently being sold for an approximate 32,000 on the internet.

Even if Butterfly is launched for 44, 000, it will still not touch the price tag  of the base version of the present costliest phone in the country, Apple’s iPhone 5 which comes for 44, 500.

The reports say HTC’s butterfly will be launched in the next two weeks and is expected to hit the stores on the same day.
