10 Tablets Unveiled in August 2012 (Till Date)


Bangalore: We have only reached the mid way mark of the month of August and we already have 10 new tablets which were launched in the market this very month. Judging by the past few days in August we can expect there to be at least another 10 more launches of new tablets by the month end. Well again that is just a speculation. Now it’s time to look at the tablets which found their way into the market and into the hearts of many gadget lovers.

1. HCL ME Y2

Price: 14,999

On August 13, 2012, HCL launched its new 3G tablet in the Indian markets at a price of 14,999. The tablet comes with a 7 inch touch screen which has a resolution of 1024 X 600 pixels.  The tablet is powered by a 1 GHz Cortex A9 Single core processor which is backed by a 1 GB RAM. HCL ME Y2 has an internal of 8 GB of memory. It also has a slot for a micro SD card with which the memory is expandable up to 32 GB.

The tablet functions on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. It runs on a powerful 4000 mAh battery. It also features a 3 mega pixel rear camera and a 0.3 mega pixel front facing camera which allows the user to make video calls.

Apart from the 3G connectivity it can also support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a mini USB and a mini HDMI port for additional connectivity. Along with these features the device is also loaded with social networking apps, games, a 3D Digital Weather Clock, iBrowser, Hungama and Saayan among the others.

It stands out among its competitors like Micromax and Karboon because of its better body as well as good durability.
