After Low Price Tablets, Datawind Now Comes Up With Affordable Smartphones


Bangalore: Evolution in the mobile technology paved way to the clever gadgets called Smartphones.It’s the appetite to access internet which made the people crazy about owning a Smartphone. Datawind known for the low cost Akash tablet has entered the market with three 5 inch display affordable Smartphones, which are equipped with a technology to speed up browsing. The three entry level Smartphones branded as Datawind PocketSurfer 5x, Datawind PocketSurfer 5 and Datawind PocketSurfer 3G5 come in 5 inch WQVGA display at 480x240 display. According to PTI report, the three new gadgets will be able to break the price barriers prevailing in the Smartphone market, they are 40 percent cheaper than their counterparts available, claims Datawind CEO Suneet Singh Tuli.

These dual sim Smartphones are equipped with internet acceleration technology with which one can load webpages within flash seconds even on 2G networks. Pocket Surfer 5x is a 2G Smartphone comes in an attractive price tag of 3499. The phone is embedded with a 1 GHz Cortex A8 single core processor. It has a 3.0Mp front facing camera accompanied with other added advantages like microSD card for expanding memory and micro USB connectivity. The device runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
