Nokia Lumia 520
The Nokia Lumia 520 is the budget device in the Lumia series of mobiles from Nokia. The handset features a similar design to the rest of the series, with broad lines and a curved back. It is slightly chunkier than the Lumia 620, but that does not make it unwieldy to hold. The handset is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Krait processor and has 512 MB RAM. While that may not seem a lot, it is sufficient for running most of the content that is available in the Windows Store. The handset is quite light, weighing in at 124 gms.
The Lumia 520 comes with a 5 MP shooter that can record HD videos in 720p. There is no camera at the front of the handset. On the multimedia front, the handset should run all major audio and video codecs natively, and the 4-inch IPS LCD screen should be ideal for viewing content on the device.
The handset features a host of connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, Integrated aGPS, 3.5 mm audio connector, micro-USB with charging and USB 2.0. It is compatible with most GSM bands, which means that the handset can be used on all major carriers around the world. Also, with HSPA+ included, data downloads can be done blazingly fast.
The battery inside is a 1430 mAh variant, and a charge should be adequate to run the handset for an entire day. The in-built storage is 8 GB, with a micro-SD slot to extend till 64 GB. One of the main features on the Lumia 520 is the interchangeable back cover, which has a total of five different covers to choose from to customize the colour of the handset.
