Overview: When it comes to music smartphones, Sony Ericsson is the first brand that comes in mind. The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman is the latest music smartphone by the company. It boasts Sony xLOUD audio enhancement system that made its audio quality beyond what everybody expected.

Design: The Live with Walkman smartphone has a unique curved design with glossy finish. It is dressed in a soft white & black color with silver buttons and a bright orange Walkman logo.

On top it has a Walkman button for quick access to music, a 3.5mm jack, the Walkman orange light when music player is on and the power On/Off button. At the right hand side it consists of volume rocker and a dedicated camera button while on the left site it has microUSB connector.

On front it comes with a VGA front facing camera, proximity sensor, notification LED and a 3.2 inch touch screen. At back it has two stereo speaker which is extremely loud, 5 megapixel shooter, Sony Ericsson logo along with Walkman logo.

Processor and Interface: The Live with Walkman is powered with Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon single core processor at a clock speed of 1 GHz, paired with Adreno 205 graphic processor unit and has 512 MB of RAM.

The smartphone comes installed with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, don’t worry the company has announced the OS update. You can update to the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

Display: It comes with TFT capacitive touchscreen display in a size of 3.2 inch. The display has a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels which is 180 pixels per inch and produces 16 million colors. It also features multi touch and is protected with scratch resistant glass.

Camera: At the back it has a 5 megapixel shooter which can capture pictures at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. The rear camera comes with set of features like auto focus, LED flash, 8x optical zoom, Geo-tagging, image stabilization, smile and face detection, touch focus and captures videos at 720 pixels.

The smartphone also has a VGA front facing camera which helps for video calling and can also captures and record videos in VGA resolution.

Storage & Connectivity: The Live with Walkman doesn’t have sufficient internal storage or built-in storage but comes with a microSD card slot which is used to expand storage up to 32GB.

As far as connectivity concerned it comes with Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, microUSB for PC connection, a digital compass, and an accelerometer sensor.

Battery Life: It comes with Li-Ion 1200 mAh standard battery which is quite enough for smartphones with this screen size. The battery performance is somewhat average; it can last up to a day with a normal usage of music, calling and data.

Sony claims the smartphone offers talk time up to 14 hours in 2G and up to 6 hours in 3G while on standby time it comes up to 350 hours and 400 hours on 2G and 3G respectively.

The Bottom Line: Live with Walkman is the second walkman series of Android phones released in India, the first one was Sony Ericsson W8 which was launched last year. Well the Live with Walkman is a good option for music junkies.
